I am currently working on a long term project called ‘Of a feather’, photographing groups of people who have found that they ‘belong together’ because of their similar interests, values, personality etc
For many people the membership of a club (be it formal or informal), association or society provides a lifetime of shared enjoyment and friendship which go far beyond simple participation. Such a gathering provide opportunities - whether that be competing, learning, exercising, travelling, making, sharing, volunteering…the list is almost endless - that provide common ground which builds trust and lasting relationships.
Clubs, societies and associations naturally attract people with similar interests and values creating an environment that is both inspiring and comfortable.
Club events can often become one of life’s best memories.
Through photographic documentation I wish to not only create a record of their existence but also demonstrate how they contribute to the wellbeing of those who they attract.
If you know of any group, club, association or society that may be interested in being a part of the project then please get in touch. I am particularly interested in those that have along history and/or are not your typical club.
